Antique Painting: Hodgson's Brewery
Oil on canavs 35.5 x 26.5 inches. Initialled T.W 1823 Thomas Woodward (1801-1852). This brewery was the first to produce Indian Pale Ale for export. This is the new brewery constructed on the profits of that trade. The horses in this painting appear to be Percheron. This is possibly one of the earliest depictions of Percherons working in GB.PAINTING ID : P0120
