Stephen Elmer of Farnham ARA (1717-1796.)

Stephen Elmer specialized in painting partridge in the second half of the 18C.

He was a Surrey brewer and still-life artist and turned his hand to oils of grouse posed in extensive landscapes, his style reflecting the artistic training he had received in the Netherlands.
