'The celebrated breeder of tup's Mr John Freestone of Great Harrowden nr Wellingborough, stands proudly alongside his shepherd & Four New Leicester Rams.

A 2 shear, 3 shear, 4 shear & 6 shear, indicating how their quality was maintained year on year.

'Mr Freestone owned one of the best flocks in the kingdom.'

Mr Freestone exhibited his sheep at the Northamptonshire Farming & Grazing Society show on the Althorp estate, & in 1831 won the William 1V Medal for the best long-wooled sheep at the Smithfield Club Show in London.
