Fake and Reproduction Naive Animal Paintings
Understanding Fake and Reproduction Naive Animal Paintings
As a part of the service we offer at Blackbrook Gallery, we are often approached by people wanting to sell their paintings.
Quite often these paintings are recent purchases where the buyer thought they were getting a genuine article for a most reasonable price.
However, sadly there are many fakes and copies of 19th century paintings on the market which were painted as recently as yesterday - mostly produced in China - and when they fall into the hands of an unscrupulous or ignorant dealer can be passed off to the unwary.
Our advice for all art investors has to be buy from a reputable art dealer who can guarantee their paintings & give you an authentic receipt as proof of your purchase.
Always remember the golden rule, "let the buyer beware".
